Running Biomechanics

Overview

Running is a popular form of exercise with numerous health benefits, but it also carries a risk of injury. The study of running biomechanics, which involves analyzing internal and external forces acting on the body during running, is essential for improving performance and minimizing injury risk. This section provides an overview of the key concepts, and applications in the field of running biomechanics, highlighting the role of mechanics in understanding running gait, identifying injury risk factors, and informing training and equipment development. reach your strength goals.

Application

Biomechanics applies the principles of mechanics to biological systems. In running, biomechanics examines the forces, motion, and physiological responses. The primary goal is to enhance athletic performance by identifying efficient movement patterns and to prevent running-related injuries by understanding the factors that lead to undesirable injuries. Key analysis will include improper use of  step cadence, stance time, stride length. Also, a look at ground reaction forces, and joint angles, in specific moments. Previous research h will be used to gain insights into running mechanics.
